Bespoke Professional Development (BePro) are a highly experienced training provider, based in the market town of Stokesley. We are predominantly focused on business related qualifications to both individuals and organisations through commercial courses and apprenticeships. We provide CMI, CIPD and Edexcel accredited programmes in Management and Leadership, Human Resources, Learning and Development, Education and Training, Recruitment, Business Administration and Customer Services and can provide our clients with a qualification from the UK’s leading bodies in the subject areas.
We offer our qualifications delivered in many different ways, including weekly taught classes, distance learning and apprenticeships. We pride ourselves on our flexible approach ensuring we get the best fit for the individual or organisation.
Founded by mother and daughter duo Val Swales and Georgina Selmi in 2014, BePro have a wealth of experience in management, HR, customer services, sales and marketing. Val Swales – Managing Director
Val is co-founder and director at BePro, managing many aspects of the business and engaging with clientele. Working with some of the country’s leading colleges and universities, Val has over 15 years in an education and training capacity. With vast industrial experience both HR and management, Val is educated to masters level in Management, holding a PGCE and many other management related qualifications. In her spare time, Val likes to spend as much time as she can in France, sampling the local cuisine and the different varieties of Grapes!
Georgina Selmi – Operations Director
Georgina is co-founder and director at BePro, overseeing day to day operations and teaching on management and HR programmes both taught courses and distance learning. Georgina has a background in administration management and HR and branched into teaching with the completion of a PGCE in 2012. Qualified to masters level in Management with a first degree in Law, Georgina has an extensive knowledge of many business subjects and a passion for learner satisfaction. Georgina enjoys making good use of her English Heritage Family Membership visiting a new castle or Abbey on a weekend with her husband and two young boys!

Helen Shinner – Operations Manager
Helen graduated from Teesside University in 2007 with a degree in Advertising Management. She has since been running her own business offering marketing and writing services, skills which Helen brought with her to BePro to provide support in everything from course coordination to developing marketing materials and copywriting. Helen has recently been promoted to Operations Manager and is now taking on several projects within the organisation. In her spare time Helen likes to go to Fencing classes and learn new vegetarian dishes. Helen is currently studying towards her Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership.
Sophie Dalgarno – HR and Admin Officer
Sophie joined us in 2017 and has already proved a real asset to the team. She acts as a main point of contact for our learners, deals with daily admin tasks and implements HR processes. Sophie joins us on a HR apprenticeship and is currently studying towards her CIPD level 3 Diploma in HR Practice. In her spare time Sophie enjoys going to music festivals and baking.
Paula Read – Talent Coach and Assessor
With a collective 30 years of experience working in education, Paula is an industry expert in her field. With a Masters degree in Education there is nothing Paula does not know about the learning experience! Paula is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learner journey. In her spare time Paula loves to travel and has recently updated her Assessing qualifications to remain current.
Tracey Carter – Talent Coach and Assessor
Tracey has been working within the training provider arena for over 11 years, providing advice and guidance and delivering qualifications in Business Administration, Customer Service and Management up to Level 5. Tracey is big on her own professional development and is currently studying towards a diploma in Human Resource Management, already possessing qualifications
Penny Harvey – Professional Tutor and Talent Coach
Penny has spent several years working as a senior management and leadership consultant, designing and delivering various development programmes, including leadership and high potential development, facilitating change and team development. Organisations that Penny has worked with include Emirates Airlines, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Alcatel and St Gobain. Penny spent many years working with Cranfield School of Management delivering various HR programmes including Masters level.
Claire Horsfield – Professional Tutor
Claire is an experienced and established HR professional who runs a consultancy service helping organisations to resolve their ‘people problems’. Claire has over 13 years experience working within HR and holds a CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management at Level 7
Angela Mazzetti – Professional Tutor
Angela works with several Universities including Newcastle University and York St John delivering HRM programmes at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.
